Privacy Policy
Last updated: . This explains what DUEL collects, why, and how you can ask us to remove it.
What we collect
To run a weekend event or quick round, DUEL stores the information you and your group enter directly into the app:
- Player names, handicaps, and team assignments
- Player photos, if you choose to add one
- A mobile number or email address, if a player or organiser chooses to add one (e.g. for invites)
- Scores, match results, and prize pot configuration for events you take part in
- A weekend or team logo, if uploaded by an organiser
We don't require an account or password to use DUEL. A lightweight anonymous device identity is used behind the scenes purely to sync your event data across the phones in your group — it isn't tied to your name or used to identify you outside the app.
To save you re-picking your name every weekend, DUEL also remembers your name (and mobile number, if you gave one) on your own device, so it can recognise which player is you next time. This is stored locally on your phone only — it's never sent to us or to anyone else's device — and you can clear it at any time from the "You're Playing As" step or the player picker in the app ("Forget this device's saved name").
How it's stored
Event data is stored with our backend provider, Supabase, so everyone in your group sees the same live scores and leaderboard. Anyone who has an event's code — not just the players you intended to invite — can join that event and see the information above for everyone taking part, including any mobile number or email address entered. Only share an event code with people you're happy to have that access.
In-app purchases
DUEL offers optional one-time purchases to unlock certain roles. These purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store — DUEL never sees or stores your payment details. We use RevenueCat to confirm which purchases are active on your device; RevenueCat receives only purchase/receipt information, not your name, photo, or scores.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data to anyone.
- We don't run advertising or ad-tracking in the app.
- We don't move or process real money — prize pot tracking is arithmetic between players, not a payment system.
Your choices
You can delete a player's photo or details from within an event at any time. If you'd like an entire event's data removed from our systems, email us at the address below with the event code and we'll action it.
Children's privacy
DUEL isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
